The project
PopUp Arena supply mobile sports arena systems, bleacher seating, and portable pitch solutions to events, TV productions, and sports organisations across the UK. Their ExpressionEngine site is the hub of their business — covering product information, case studies, news, event photos, and enquiries — and has evolved significantly over the years as the business has grown and diversified.
An evolving platform
Our relationship with PopUp Arena is a long-term development partnership rather than a single project. The site has been continuously updated, extended, and improved to reflect new product lines, new services, and new ways the team wants to communicate with their audience. From new content sections and channel structures to design updates and feature additions, the platform adapts as the business does.
EE's flexible channel architecture has been central to this — making it straightforward to add new content types and sections without disrupting what's already in place. The site now covers a wide range of content including news, case studies, arena ideas, kit listings, and an event photo gallery.
Technical work
Over the course of the partnership we have handled everything from routine maintenance and EE version updates through to more significant development work — new template builds, channel architecture changes, image handling improvements, and performance optimisation. The site runs on a well-maintained EE install with a clean, manageable codebase that the client's team can work with confidently.
The outcome
PopUp Arena have a reliable, flexible platform that grows with their business. The site consistently reflects what the company is doing and where it's heading — from major events like the Women's EUROs at Wembley through to new product launches and industry news.
